TRAILING ON THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS

EGYPT – ISRAEL TOUR 23RD NOV – 10TH DEC 2010

Day 1: Nairobi - Cairo
Leave Nairobi in the early morning arrive at the Cairo Airport at 1100hrs. Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met and assisted through immigration formalities and transfer you to your hotel. After check in you will be transferred to Cairo city for a short rest. Afternoon visit to the Egyptian museum  where the treasures of Pharaoh Tut Ank Amon are displayed. Visit the Al Khalili Bazaar. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2:  - Cairo
Visit Memphis and Sakara, the Pyramids, Sphinx. Coptic Church if time permits.  Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: Cairo – Mt. Sinai
Depart Cairo via the Sinai desert to Mt. Sinai area. Overnight nearby.

Day 4: Mt. Sinai – Eliat
Early morning climb to the summit of Mt. Sinai. Descend for breakfast. Visit St. Catherine Monastery       (closed on Fridays and Sundays and Greek Orthodox special holidays). Drive to Taba border to cross To Israel. Overnight in Eilat city on the Red Sea or in Arad (2 hours drive), depends on the season.

Day 5: Dead Sea - Jerusalem
Visit the Dead-Sea, time for swim, visit Qumran caves where the Dead-Sea scrolls where found.  Drive to Jerusalem via the Good Samaritan's Inn. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6:  Gethsemane- Mt. Zion - Jerusalem
Mt. of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations, Cross the Kidron Valley to Mt. Zion.     Visit the room of the Last Supper.   Afternoon visit to Bethlehem; the Church of Nativity and the Shepherd's Fields. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7:  Bethsaida – Jewish Quarter
Visit the Model of Jerusalem from the times of Christ. Proceed to enter the walled city of Jerusalem. Start with the Pool of Bethesda and Church of St. Anne. Via Dolorosa 14 Stations of the Cross, the Church of the Holy Sepulture. The Cardo in the Jewish Quarter.

Day 8:  Jordan Valley – Galilee
Depart Jerusalem via the Jordan Valley. Drive North along River Jordan. Visit Nazareth and the Church of Annunciation, Nearby Cana, site of the first miracle. Overnight in the Galilee.

Day 9:  Capernum – River Jordan
Begin with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, visit Capernaum, Tabgha and Mt. of Beatitudes, Drive around the Sea of Galilee to the Baptism Site in the Jordan River. Overnight in the Galilee.

Day 10: Mt. Camel – Caesarea – Eliat
Depart Galilee to visit Muhraka and Caesarea. Then drive 400 Km south for overnight in Eilat or near the border.

Day 11: Cairo – Departure
Transfer by land to Cairo for the evening flight back to NBO.
