Tsavo is one of the most visited National parks in Kenya as you get a sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters. This along with the 300 kilometer long Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust-red elephant, Black Rhinos, Cape Buffaloes, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudus, long-necked gerenuk and the prolific bird life features over 500 species.
About Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East National Park is one of the oldest parks in Kenya, located South East of Kenya near the Town of Voi in the Taita-Taveta. From Nairobi through Athi River passing Salama town, Emali, Kiboko down to Kibwezi then to Mtito andei as you view the various vegetation and different climate conditions as you head to the Coastal region.
You will be picked up at your place of convenience around Nairobi early in the morning to depart for Voi. It is roughly 431 km from Nairobi. It’s a smooth drive down from Nairobi Cunty to Taita Taveta County. It will be a full day road trip that will be full of amazing views of the change of climate and vegetation as you move down to the Coastal region.
Spend the night at Voi Safari Lodge or similar.
After the morning breakfast, an early morning game drive in the park will be great to get a chance to see the amazing wildlife around the park. You will also have a chance to view the Mzima springs and the world’s longest lava flow as you have your picnic lunch. Dinner overnight will be at Voi Safari Lodge or similar.
After taking breakfast, you will have a half day game drive in the park as you enjoy the vegetation and wildlife. After lunch you shall check out then embark on your journey back to Nairobi with unforgettable memories of the experience at Tsavo!!!
